‘I need some new stilettos
can’t walk down the street in those
‘you are who you wear‘ it’s true
a girl is just as hot as the shoes she chooses’
[Lady GaGa – Fashion]
Lady GaGa sang it in her song fashion and I can tell you that it is damn true – the right shoe completes an outfit and can turn it into different dimensions – a wedge heel makes a trench coat look different than a pair of Birkenstocks or last season’s Prada Stilettos [though I would definitely choose Prada over Birkenstock if I were a girl – that one is for sure].
Nevertheless this is all about shoes, but actually it is neither about the wedge heel, the stiletto or the pump…no, this piece is about a label that I recently found at the Vienna Modepalast several weeks ago. Besides the weak fashion show including talent free models and a small copied Chanel – Viktor&Rolf – Maison Martin Margiela House there have been several hundreds of dresses and skirts and trousers and other stuff that actually looked quite the same mostly, which was very disappointing, but there was one label that stood far apart all the other ones and even though I do not wear sneakers [until now, of course] I have to admit that these do not only look cool and sassy, but also comfortable and innovative compared to all the other shoes on the market that look alike.
In 2007 Sebastian Thies presented the label Nat-2 after 4 years of development and brainstorming. Since then the fashion brand counts to the most innovative in the shoe design industry. By launching the worldwide first, international patented 2 in 1 sneaker-system, Nat-2 set new standards
for the shoe- and fashion-scene. The innovations have received the “Innovation & Design Award by KENT” (Zurich, Switzerland), the “Ispo BrandNew Award Style Accessories” (Munich, Germany) and have been nominated for “The 2009 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany”.
The patented Stack 4 in 1 Sneaker by Nat-2 is a true phenomenon. Simple and ingenious it combines innovation, design and the latest street-style of today. From a slipper it converts to a low-cut, mid cut or boxer-booty due to a layer and push-button technology. As soon as he or she has more than one pair of the same size, the owner can combine and create endless individual Styles.
Also for travelling and transport, the Stack 4 in 1 is uniquely practical. Thanks to the possibility of stacking the single uppers into each other a lot of space is saved and due to the 4 in 1 function one got less weight in the luggage and is perfectly prepared for every weather and occasion. Sustainability as well has been paid respect with this product. Each pair is not only “four pairs”, including a full rubber sole, but also comes packed in a stylish suitcase, which can be re-used as document folder or storage of the uppers and is already a collector’s item.
The brand Nat-2 does not only produce women’s and men’s shoes, but also fabulous shades which I tried on and which I will definitely purchase once I am in Munich at their Store Opening Party. They are colorful, frisky and absolutely stylish – AND without a doubt my It – piece for the next summer season. Once in love with such a shade I will never give it away nor can I stop thinking about it actually. The pictures you see are WM shades for 2010 soccer WM and let me tell you as a big soccer fan I did love them right away!
A friend of mine – K.P is going to apply for an internship at Nat-2 so let us see what she can tell us about the label once she gets to know it and the designers a bit more. If you now long for purchasing an original Nat-2 item you have the chance at Galleries Lafayettes [Paris], as well as boutiques like Rossana Orlandi [Milano], Bube & Dame [Munich] and Tuatara [Bucharest]. You will love it – believe me…you know I am always honest and real and if you do not believe me talk to my ex-friend E. I criticized her collection and now she doesn’t talk to me anymore. Bohoo. Move on girl. Time to grow up.
P.S.: Btw – Bucharest in February is absolutely marvellous. You absolutely have to visit it one day soon. I fell in love with it right away and all my prejudices were swept away once I left that airport and visited the city.
