…are neither In nor stylish. They just buy whatever the media tells them in order to appear cool, trendy and expensive and let’s be honest that’s dumb, boring and unspectacular.
Fashionistas are not cool, because it is not cool to hide your low capacity of self-esteem and self-assurance by buying the latest It-bag. It-bags are out the only reasonable buy is an investment bag. Birkin; 2.55; Speedy an Jackie O. And if you do not know the labels of these bags you know for sure that you have to get in front of your books to study the history of fashion – Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
Fashionistas do not have their own kind of style or attitude, that’s always just playing pretend. Fashionistas open a magazine, turn on the TV or read a fashion book and immediately run around to buy whatever they are told. It isn’t necessary to go with every trend that comes out of nowhere – believe me, most trends don’t fit you anyway so just leave it to rest.
Fashionistas are Fashion victims – poor, pitiful and sad. It will never set your wardrobe apart or make any inimitable style statment if you carry around bags and shoes and jeans that are flags of surrender and advertise that you are a fashion victim without any sense for style. Buying a trend is not stylish just because it is a trend. Not every trend is stylish and for sure not every trend should actually be a trend. Or did you honestly ran around with your panties above your jeans just because Britney Spears did in her Video ‘I’m a slave 4 u’? It fitted for her, sure, but it will never do for you. That’s neither cute nor trend-setting nor groundbreakingly stylish – it is actually just dumb.
Do anything that sets you apart from a similar looking crowd wearing the same bags and shoes just because they’ve been advertised. Fashion is not about advertising. It is about developing an own sense for fashion and for separating those things that work for you from those that definitely do not.
Don’t be foolish. Be yourself. And be proud of yourself. Do anything to show others that you are not an average girl or boy dressing how they expect it from you.
Do it your way. And only your way.
