a little Change – a little Piece of Mind

As I might have promised Saturday was one sinful and fashionable night! OMG Society didn’t just welcome guests like Alfons Haider, and Gery Keszler, but also both designers of DSquared Dean and Dan were visiting Team X and its beautiful, dressed up and animalistic guests! Though one of my enemy – an actual copycat of my Blog called ML – who is nothing but a zero and the number one on the worst dressed list, even though he believes himself to be oh so damn fine, I did enjoy the evening because of my friends and a wonderful, relaxing conversation with monsieur F.

I can’t believe it, but OMG really rocked my world and changed my point of view on fashion a little bit. I indeed did expand my horizon and went from Blair Waldorf’s Park Avenue chic to Jennifer Humphrey’s Stylish, elegant Punk look. In the beginning it was quite weird to leave my tie at home, but in the end it turned out to be an adventure, a fresh experience and above all a new way of finding a new facet of myself – one of those facets I am still trying to figure out, because I do believe that there are pieces inside of us, that will never meet the daylight if we do not dig deep down to discovering these and setting them free. And there was me in a whole new picture, and a whole new frame.

Nevertheless, the weekend is over and once the party tunes faded we have to find ourselves back in reality struggling with every complicated phase of life – trying to stay on track – trying to be ourselves – trying to find new adventures and hidden secrets and ways to become who we ever wanted to be. So there we are… on this way, mostly all by ourselves, because no one can take away your personal problems or your doubts or your evanescent self-believe. It is you in the mirror when you are dressed up getting ready for a new day. A new defiance. A new enemy or a new friend.

Whatever it is, that is waiting out there for everyone of us – it is far bigger than we might ever expect, but isn’t this exactly what keeps us alive? Not knowing what is out there – what kind of surprise the world is hiding from us to be discovered, experienced and above all – lived, breathed and felt?

I live you – I breathe you – I feel you. Thanks for reading my blog, being my support and above all thanks for forming an important part of my personal Meaning of Life.

I love you all – the lovers, the haters, the anxious, the brave – everyone of you, my dear, wonderful readers.

P.S. What do you say? Do you like the outfit and the development of my style that seems to be going on?

OMG Society [Part II] – Sodom and Gomorrah!

Spotted: It is Saturday…finally the 29th. A sinful day. A party night. Rocking chic and Haute Couture influences. R sporting a Balmain inspired shirt to his And_I mask – the boy turned from sharp high end elegance to rocking haute couture chic? Did the world turn upside down or is he just expanding his horizon and experimenting? Whatever this is – it will be epic.

OMG Society is taking place for a second time in the grand and beautiful Palais Kinsky, but this time the whole scene turned into a landscape of sin, lust and nudity – it is Sodom and Gomorrah! Will you be there? Will you party alongside R, Mr.StrictlyIntimate, K, B, M and MY? Will you be there to see sexy men and beautiful women in And_I masks and accessories?

Only with this card your entry is safe – to all those without a card: Dress up, be confident and just show that you are having a good time…only then your entry into the halls of sin is safe!

More Party, more Space and an exclusive Backstage Area for the most wanted, the most fashionable and the most important people.

I will let you know how much fun I had – if I am going to have any at all.

Sinful Nights.

Paris Fashion Week – les dix meilleurs

New York, London, Milan, Paris…fashion week found its end all over the world and for me Paris was the most exciting and brilliant of all [besides London] and so I thought that it is about time to announce my top 10 looks of this year’s Paris fashion history.

10 – Chloé [Designer: Hannah MacGibbon]
Sexy, feminine and absolutely classy. This collection does not include any fashionable risks, but it still is fun to wear a dress that surrounds your body like a second skin and makes it appear absolument perfect.

9 – Céline [Designer: Phoebe Philo]
This year the Céline women earned herself another title besides feminine, elegant and stylish – self confident. Clean, pure and easy-going cuts underline the female body and turn it into a well-shaped figure that emanates effortless style and consciousness.

8 – Nina Ricci [Designer: Peter Copping]
A collection full of draping and shaping, playing with materials and volants, different pleats and tucks to emanate a feeling of fluent motions and easiness. Though seemingly and obviously body draped the dresses were definitely playing by the rules of simplicity.

7 – Elie Saab [Designer: Elie Saab]
Soft, puristic, elegant, chic and divine are those words, that do not only descripe Elie Saab’s way of designing and dressing the female body, but also the new collection which seemed to be – as always – an homage to feminity and subliminal eccentricity.

6 – Lanvin [Designer: Alber Elbaz]
Mixing and matching was Lanvin’s motto for the next Season – knowing about the fabric you wear, consciously mixing material and self-confidently wearing drapery to transport style, chic and above all self-respect.

5 – Chanel [Designer: Karl Lagerfeld]
Creating collections in his dream, Karl Lagerfeld always seems to know, what rich Russian women want to wear in order to show how much money they have to uselessly spend it on 5.000 dollar bags – but actually it is also Karl Lagerfeld who dominates the fashion industry with his timeless taste and the attitude to design pieces of clothing that go always – at any time of the day and at any time of the night. Throughout the year. And that is a talent, no one can ever take away from him.

4 – Hermès [Designer: Jean Paul Gaultier]
Cracking the whip is one thing Hermès always does besides producing infamous bags like the Kelly or the Birkin, but after disappointing me the last two seasons I have been surprisingly happy and satisfied watching Iris Strubegger and co walking down the runway in perfect hand-sewn leather couture (inspired by country) that adulates the body and presents it on a golden tablet in a very sexy manner.

3 – Balmain [Designer: Christophe Decarnin]
Being able to bring back shoulder pads in a way monsieur Decarnin did it a couple of seasons ago with an unbelievably wonderful jacket that stil crosses my mind at least seven times a week – he seems to be the only one by now being able to present the effortless business look that lets every single lady look gorgeously fresh, amazingly chic and tremendously professionel. Conquer the world in heels my girls.

2 – Viktor & Rolf [Designer: Viktor Horsting & Rolf Snoeren]
I would have never thought that I would be sitting in front of a mac screen actually liking anything that Viktor & Rolf are designing/producing but this year, I have to proudly admit and present that both of them did an amazing job in creating wearable and special clothes that neither do look like anything else being shown in Paris nor being to weird to really wear. It is about time that I take a bow in front of such a genious collection full of new cuts and the play with shoulders, shirts, sleeves, collars and cuffs. Absolutely divine!

1 – Alexander McQueen [Designer: Sarah Burton]
Honestly – it is a hard, difficult and fucking tough thing to step in shoes that are as big as those of a man called Alexander McQueen – a legend and a truly unique character of a designer, but Sarah Burton did it and she did it better than anyone could have done. I was stunned and captivated by every single piece of clothing of this collection. I fell in love with a woman. Unbelievable but true. Sarah…I take a bow. Your rococo inspired designs dominated the runway and took over my heart.

Marc Jacobs – the Big Fail and the missing Manners

Sometimes something goes very very very very wrong – just like Marc Jacobs’ new collection for Louis Vuitton [Spring/Summer 2011], which I have been watching yesterday at 2.30 pm via livestream in our fashion office, straight away from Paris Fashion Week runways. I wasn’t just disappointed about the whole concept of the show, I was angry, that I was using my time looking at such clothes, while I could have done something better.
Actually my patience was wearing thin afer I have seen the fifth outfit, after the sixth I thought about thorwing the mac screen out of the window, but then I fashionably calmed myself and thought about writing my thoughts on the collection down, to show you what to really NOT wear – and if you stick with me, you will never be out of style, that is one thing you and I know for sure.

So back to monsieur Jacobs who walked on that runway to take a bow in a manner that I would either describe as drunk – or completely stoned…btw though it’s 2010 it is still totally and inadequately inappropriate to chew gum with your mouth wide open – maybe you’ll keep that in mind for the next time.
The whole collection was way too Cavalli for my taste – too much animal print, way too much colour and way way way too much of everything except for taste. The only deep thing of this shallow collection was the fact that before the show there has been lying a quote from an essay of Susan Sonntag on every single chair. It said: ‘The relation between boredom and camp taste cannot be overestimated’ – actually it can…I have been overdramatically bored and well, we do not talk about the camp taste…it was just tasteless everything from the tigers in the back to the clothes on the women’s back.

Though the collection was very Art Deco and Art Nouveau it seemed a bit tasteless because neither the colours did fit, nor the concept – if there was one actually. Never know, never mind, never think about it again.

This year only a few Labels such as Hermès, Lanvin, Bottega Veneta, Balmain and Elie Saab could win over my heart, but maybe you’ll try next time again Mr. Jacobs. Marc.
